Experience and Urban Sets

How to choose the right bikepacking kit

A complete set removes the most common uncertainty for beginners: which bags to combine. Each GIVI Bike kit consists of bags that are compatible with one another in terms of shape, colour and position on the bike. Here’s what to consider when choosing the right one.

How many days and how much gear?

For one- or two-day rides, the Essential and Basic kits, with two or three lightweight bags, are all you need. For long weekends, choose the Medium, Light and Ride Fusion sets, which add saddle and frame bags. For self-supported trips, choose Advanced, Journey, Explorer or Overland: handlebar, frame, saddle and fork bags combined, up to the Full Set with all the bags from the Adventure Line.

Bikepacking or bike rack?

Bikepacking kits do not require a bike rack and are ideal for gravel and mountain bikes on unpaved terrain. If your bike has a rack and you travel on the road, the 68- and 80-litre Experience Pack sets with JUNTER panniers and WANDERLUST cargo bag offer greater capacity in matching colours. For city riding, there’s the Avenue Urban Pack, while the Tracer sets combine a smartphone holder with compact bags for quick rides.

Why choose a set?

In addition to offering better value than purchasing each bag separately, a set ensures that every component is compatible with the others and with its position on the bike, avoiding overlaps between the handlebar bag, top tube bag and frame bag. All the bags included in the sets are also available individually, allowing you to expand your setup over time.

Frequently Asked Questions About Bikepacking Kits

Each GIVI Bike Bikepacking kit combines two or more bags from the Adventure line: handlebar, frame and saddle bags and, in the more complete sets, fork and top tube bags. The exact configuration, including the capacity of each bag in litres, is specified on each set’s product page.

For your first one- or two-day trips, the Essential and Basic kits are the simplest choice: just a few lightweight bags that are easy to mount. As your trips get longer, you can add the missing bags individually or upgrade to an Advanced, Journey or Explorer set.

No: Bikepacking kits mount directly to the handlebars, frame, saddle and fork and are specifically designed for bikes without racks, such as gravel and mountain bikes. If your bike has a rack, Experience Pack sets use panniers and cargo bags.

The travel bags included in the sets use technical fabrics and waterproof construction to protect their contents from rain and mud; the TRACER smartphone holder included in the corresponding sets is fully waterproof. Full details are available on each product page.

Yes: all the bags included in GIVI Bike sets are also available individually, so you can replace a bag or expand your setup over time while maintaining the same colour and style.
