How to choose the right frame bag

The frame bag is one of the most efficient bags on a bike: the weight stays low and central, it doesn’t affect steering or the saddle, and the contents remain accessible while riding. Here’s what to consider when choosing the right one.

Top tube or frame bag?

Top tube bags — the 1-litre PICKER, 1.2-litre YUKON, BOOST and 2-litre PAMIR — sit behind the stem and keep your smartphone, snacks and power bank within easy reach. Frame bags fit inside the frame triangle: the 2-litre GATE and 3.5-litre HILL are ideal for tools and a jacket, while the shaped 3- and 4-litre KARST and 4- and 6-litre OBERON are designed for bikepacking when you need more capacity while keeping the centre of gravity low.

Materials and waterproofing

Abrasion-resistant technical fabrics, protected zips and waterproof construction protect the contents from rain, mud and rubbing against the frame. Full details of the materials are available on each product page.

Mounting and compatibility

GIVI Bike frame bags attach to the tubes with adjustable Velcro straps and fit most frames; the shaped models leave space for a water bottle. Before purchasing, measure your frame triangle, especially on smaller frame sizes and full-suspension bikes, and compare it with the dimensions provided on the product page.

The frame bag fits inside the frame triangle, offers up to 6 litres of capacity and is designed for tools, spare parts and clothing.

The bags in the range use technical fabrics and waterproof construction with protected zips to keep the contents safe from rain and mud. Full details of the materials are provided on each product page.
